What are you wearing Friday night? A) #neckparty B) #armparty C) #dannijo D) all of the above
Answer: D. All of the above.
Whether you’re into fashion or not, you know Dannijo. Why? Dannijo owns social media and because of it, Danielle and Jodie, the sisters behind the NY based accessories label, have found themselves in just about every major fashion and lifestyle publication, have some of the hottest celebs playing dress up, and most recently, landed themselves in Forbes’ 2014 30 Under 30.
While social media is far from a one sized fits all strategy, it’s always a great idea to peek under the hood of the brands who are doing it well. After five years of getting after it, and even pitching their jewels in the women’s bathroom, Danielle and Jodie have the fashion world #PuttingaBibonit.
So you want to give your brand some life and take your following into the peaks of five figures like Dannijo?
Here are Dannijo’s 6 Tips for Social Media Success in 2014.
2. Target with #CatchyHashtags
Target an attitude rather than an age group. BINGO! “Our pieces target a confident, stylish, easy going woman,” says Jodie. Your hashtags follow the same rule of thumb. Hashtags put your product in the hands of the consumer, so make sure you’re speaking their language. #putabibonit alone increased bib sales by 20%.
3. Get personal
Lifestyle branding sells and creates real relationships with your customers. Your fans want to know where you’re at, what you’re doing and who you’re doing it with.
4. It’s okay to brag…
but let your customers do it! Show them off in your duds and they’ll repay you with engagement and sales.
5. Come on, be interesting
You want to post content that people actually want to talk about and that they want to see. Take your fans somewhere new with your conversations and your photos. Engage. “I’m a big believer in creating and sharing meaningful content. Overtime that is every brand’s best bet for creating and sustaining a following that will grow their business,” says Danni.
6. Know your platforms
We’re not talking 6″ wedges here, we mean Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Tumblr. Dannijo uses each social platform to provide a certain experience for their customers while also gaining unique insight about their customers and their behavior.
Twitter – works great when linking directly to products
Pinterest – helps to understand what your customers are loving, repining and what they’re coupling your products with.
Instagram – use it like your own lifestyle magazine.
7. Be inspiring
Right? It’s your job to make believers of your brand. It won’t happen overnight, but consistency and perseverance will get you there. Use social media to give your brand life and see for yourself just how empowering you really are.
